Christmas Toy Rules – My Wife & I Disagree.?
I bought my 4 and 5 year old boys a gaming table for Christmas that includes air hockey, ping pong, shuffleboard, etc… and it also has a pool table option with it.
They have had major trouble over the past several weeks obeying the rules that we put in place so I suggested to my wife that we should tell them if they treat the other games with respect and fair play without breaking anything or breaking the rules then (and only then) would they get the pool game as well.
My wife said that it was a stupid rule, and that you can’t give kids a toy for Christmas and then impose rules. I think that without rules chaos is the norm. I don’t want to replace broken windows from flying pool cues and balls until I see how they are going to treat it… They still have nine other games on the table.
What do you think? Is my wife right? So far I’m vehemently sticking to my guns on this one.
Christmas toys or not the rules are implemented to teach them, not to limit them.
Good for you to sticking up for yourself.
